{"id":1565,"date":"2011-08-27T07:29:05","date_gmt":"2011-08-27T06:29:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bodhicharya.org\/manyroads\/?p=1565"},"modified":"2011-08-27T07:29:05","modified_gmt":"2011-08-27T06:29:05","slug":"editorial-august-2011","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bodhicharya.org\/manyroads\/editorial-august-2011\/","title":{"rendered":"Editorial August 2011"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As the lazy days of August gradually fade, I am very happy to send you a slightly \u2018thinner\u2019, but none the less, an entertaining issue of Many Roads.<\/p>\n<p>Our regular contributor, Vicki McKenna gives us some food for thought in her article, <a href=\"https:\/\/bodhicharya.org\/manyroads\/2011\/08\/26\/letting-go-of-being-right-by-vicki-mckenna\/\">Letting go of Being Right<\/a>. This is a topic close to my heart because, of course, I always think I\u2019m right!\u00a0 And, this month, I&#8217;m taking the\u00a0 opportunity to write about something else very\u00a0close to my heart;\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/bodhicharya.org\/manyroads\/2011\/08\/26\/kindness-by-margaret-ford\/\">Kindness<\/a>.\u00a0 Very often I find myself wondering, why can\u2019t we\u00a0just be a bit kinder to each other? Let me know what you think.<\/p>\n<p>Once again, we have a surfeit of beautiful poems.\u00a0 Firstly, Madeline Schreiber shares her very recent poem in praise of HH Karmapa: <a href=\"https:\/\/bodhicharya.org\/manyroads\/2011\/08\/26\/nomad-dharma-king-by-madeline-schreiber\/\">Nomad Dharma King<\/a>. Then, David Gardner\u00a0makes me smile with his poem<a href=\"https:\/\/bodhicharya.org\/manyroads\/2011\/08\/26\/house-of-meringue-by-david-gardner\/\"> House of Meringue<\/a>. And Colin Moore, whom\u00a0you will remember from last month&#8217;s issue and his article Sustainable Living,\u00a0this time shares a poem\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/bodhicharya.org\/manyroads\/2011\/08\/26\/awake-in-the-dark-by-colin-moore\/\">Awake in the Dark<\/a>. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>As many of you will know, Bodhicharya has set up a new \u00a0network of communities at <a href=\"http:\/\/bodhicharya.intouch.net\/\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/bodhicharya.intouch.net<\/a> which includes a community for writers and poets.
