{"id":1744,"date":"2011-10-29T09:41:04","date_gmt":"2011-10-29T08:41:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bodhicharya.org\/manyroads\/?p=1744"},"modified":"2011-10-29T09:41:04","modified_gmt":"2011-10-29T08:41:04","slug":"the-last-editorial-for-now","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bodhicharya.org\/manyroads\/the-last-editorial-for-now\/","title":{"rendered":"The Last Editorial&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;.for now."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As I type this, I can see the golden leaves shimmering in the bright Autumn sunshine in my garden.\u00a0 \u00a0It is a beautiful time of the year and one I\u2019ve always loved.\u00a0 So, maybe it\u2019s fitting that it\u2019s during this season of so many changes that I\u2019ve decided to take a break from the work I do for Ringu Tulku and\u00a0Bodhicharya.\u00a0 It\u2019s mainly due to continuing ill health but also because I believe that there comes a time in one\u2019s life when you know that you have to move on and do something different.\u00a0And it\u2019s that time for me now. After many years of working for RTR and\u00a0Bodhicharya; I\u2019m taking a year \u2018out\u2019 but I have no plans. I will take life as it comes. \u00a0So, this will be the last issue of Many Roads, for a while, but it\u2019s a great issue.<\/p>\n<p>As usual, we have another article from my dear friend and our regular contributor, Vicki McKenna.\u00a0Vicki writes here\u00a0about \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/bodhicharya.org\/manyroads\/2011\/10\/28\/a-capsizing-world-by-vicki-mckenna\/\">A Capsizing World <\/a>and what we can do to help us \u2018maintain a sense of order and harmony\u2019 in our changing world. \u00a0\u00a0Also, another great interview by Jet Mort ,who this time speaks to <a href=\"https:\/\/bodhicharya.org\/manyroads\/2011\/10\/28\/an-interview-with-lama-tsultrim-by-jet-mort\/\">Lama Tsultrim <\/a>of Bodhicharya France.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Many of you will have seen recently a post in the Bodhicharya web site about the retreat with Rinpoche in Sikkim this December.\u00a0 \u00a0Last year, there was a similar retreat in Sikkim in October\/November, also organised by Erika van Greunen from South Africa.\u00a0 Mary Heneghan, one of Rinpoche&#8217;s students from Oxford, England, attended that retreat and \u00a0Mary\u2019s very personal account of her time in Sikkim can be found at <a href=\"https:\/\/bodhicharya.org\/manyroads\/2011\/10\/28\/vajrasattva-retreat-with-ringu-tulku-rinpoche-at-bodhicharya-retreat-centre-sikkim-by-mary-heneghan\/\">Vajrasattva Retreat with Ringu Tulku Rinpoche at Bodhicharya Retreat Centre<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I am very happy to include more of the poetry that has already been posted in the Writers and Poets Community of the Bodhicharya Communities Website.\u00a0 Firstly,\u00a0 Ani Tsering Paldron\u2019s very beautiful poem, <a href=\"https:\/\/bodhicharya.org\/manyroads\/2011\/10\/28\/the-unbearable-love-poem-manjushris-song-by-ani-tsering-paldron\/\">The Unbearable Love Poem <\/a>(Manjushri\u2019s Song).\u00a0 Next, Ani Karma Tsultrim shares her poem written while she was receiving treatment for cancer, <a href=\"https:\/\/bodhicharya.org\/manyroads\/2011\/10\/28\/bring-sickness-onto-the-path-by-ani-karma-tsultrim\/\">Bring Sickness onto the Path<\/a>.\u00a0 \u00a0Mustapha Zaidi shares too his Dharma inspired poem <a href=\"https:\/\/bodhicharya.org\/manyroads\/2011\/10\/28\/leaf-by-mustapha-zaidi\/\">Leaf<\/a> and Anne H was equally generous in allowing us to publish here <a href=\"https:\/\/bodhicharya.org\/manyroads\/2011\/10\/28\/out-of-my-mind-unique-falling-by-anne-h\/\">Out of My Mind, Unique Falling<\/a>. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>And, I would like to end here with something very special. \u00a0Last week, Mary Heneghan (of the Sikkim retreat above) sent me some inspiring words written by her daughter, Katie, aged eight. \u00a0I was so touched by <a href=\"https:\/\/bodhicharya.org\/manyroads\/2011\/10\/28\/katies-rules-by-katie-heneghan\/\">Katie\u2019s Rules <\/a>that I wanted to include them in this last issue. \u00a0Of course I have Katie and her mum\u2019s permission. \u00a0I especially like Katie\u2019s first rule; \u00a0\u00a0<strong>\u2018<\/strong><em><strong>If you drop anything or go off course, you must go back to <\/strong><\/em><em><strong>the <\/strong><\/em><em><strong>beginning\u2019.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/em>Maybe that is what I\u2019m doing?\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>With many grateful thanks to all the contributors to this issue and all previous issues of Many Roads.
