SEASONAL GREETINGS TO ALL READERS OF\u00a0MANY ROADS<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Am I am imagining that the citiy is less busy than it usually is at this time of year? \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Perhaps online shopping has taken off and high street stores are now receiving fewer shoppers. \u00a0I remember not that long ago people held back their purchases till the post-Christmas sales which began on Boxing Day. \u00a0Now, weeks before Christmas Day, there are bargains to be had \u00a0as stores compete for people’s money with cut-price goods on sale everywhere.<\/span><\/p>\n

Of course, there are alternative ways of giving presents this year and that’s by doing something that will benefit others: like donating to the Rigul School<\/em> in Tibet. \u00a0All kinds of ways you can help the school are posted on \u00a0http:\/\/www.rigultrust.org\/<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Nosy Mangabe<\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/em>relates the experience of Jane Fyfe on an archaeological trip to Madagascar to study carvings on rocks left over the years by Dutch Sailors.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dr Gwen Enstam reviews\u00a0Night Boat<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>by Alan Spence. \u00a0The book is about the Zen monk Ekaku and his attempts to revive Buddhism in Japan.<\/span><\/p>\n

There is also a short poem by Eliza Bishop,\u00a0Revealing Manjushri<\/em><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Sitar Rose’s\u00a0Fulfilling the Vision<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>is a film\u00a0offering an insight into the “Spiritual, humanitarian and therapeutic” work at Samye Ling Monastery.<\/span><\/p>\n

Jaiya John’s prose poem,\u00a0I Find My Sacred Lake<\/a>,\u00a0<\/em>is an ispirational piece of writing, straight from the heart, and depicts the humanity we can find in us all.<\/span><\/p>\n

Finally, an account of a meeting I had with Lama Ngakpa Rinpoche in Kathmandu, Divination by Dice<\/a><\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n
