href=\"http:\/\/www.bbcgoodfood.com\/glossary\/celery\">celery<\/a>, finely chopped<\/li>\n<li class=\"\">2 <a class=\"glossary-link\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bbcgoodfood.com\/glossary\/garlic\">garlic<\/a> cloves, finely chopped<\/li>\n<li class=\"\">200g <a class=\"glossary-link\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bbcgoodfood.com\/glossary\/chestnut\">chestnut<\/a> <a class=\"glossary-link\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bbcgoodfood.com\/glossary\/mushroom\">mushrooms<\/a>, finely chopped<\/li>\n<li class=\"\">1 red pepper, halved, deseeded and finely diced<\/li>\n<li class=\"\">1 large <a class=\"glossary-link\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bbcgoodfood.com\/glossary\/carrot\">carrot<\/a>, grated<\/li>\n<li class=\"\">1 tsp dried <a class=\"glossary-link\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bbcgoodfood.com\/glossary\/oregano\">oregano<\/a><\/li>\n<li class=\"\">1 tsp smoked <a class=\"glossary-link\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bbcgoodfood.com\/glossary\/paprika\">paprika<\/a><\/li>\n<li class=\"\">100g red <a class=\"glossary-link\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bbcgoodfood.com\/glossary\/lentils\">lentils<\/a><\/li>\n<li class=\"\">2 tbsp <a class=\"glossary-link\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bbcgoodfood.com\/glossary\/tomato\">tomato<\/a> pur\u00e9e<\/li>\n<li class=\"\">300ml vegetable stock<\/li>\n<li class=\"\">100g fresh breadcrumbs<\/li>\n<li class=\"\">150g mixed nuts such as <a class=\"glossary-link\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bbcgoodfood.com\/glossary\/walnut\">walnuts<\/a>, peacans, <a class=\"glossary-link\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bbcgoodfood.com\/glossary\/hazelnut\">hazelnuts<\/a> and Brazil nuts, roughly chopped<\/li>\n<li class=\"\">3 large <a class=\"glossary-link\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bbcgoodfood.com\/glossary\/egg\">eggs<\/a>, lightly beaten<\/li>\n<li class=\"\">100g mature cheddar, grated<\/li>\n<li class=\"\">handful flat leaf <a class=\"glossary-link\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bbcgoodfood.com\/glossary\/parsley\">parsley<\/a>, finely chopped<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"turquoise\"><span style=\"color: #993300\">For the tomato sauce<\/span><\/h3>\n<ul class=\"unstyled\">\n<li class=\"\">2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil<\/li>\n<li class=\"\">2 garlic cloves, finely sliced<\/li>\n<li class=\"\">1 sprig <a class=\"glossary-link\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bbcgoodfood.com\/glossary\/rosemary\">rosemary<\/a><\/li>\n<li class=\"\">400ml passata<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<section id=\"recipe-method\" class=\"recipe-method separator separator-dashed-bottom col span6 tab\">\n<h2 class=\"separator separator-dashed-bottom tab-header\"><span style=\"color: #993300\">Method<\/span><\/h2>\n<div>\n<div class=\"field field-name-body field-type-text-with-summary field-label-hidden\">\n<div class=\"field-items\">\n<div class=\"field-item even\">\n<ol class=\"unstyled\">\n<li class=\"separator separator-solid-grayoffwhite first\">Preheat the oven to 180C\/fan 160C\/Gas 4. Line the base and sides of a 1.5 litre loaf tin with parchment paper.<\/li>\n<li class=\"separator separator-solid-grayoffwhite\">Heat the oil and butter in a large frying pan and cook the <a class=\"glossary-link\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bbcgoodfood.com\/glossary\/onion\">onion<\/a> and <a class=\"glossary-link\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bbcgoodfood.com\/glossary\/celery\">celery<\/a> for about 5 mins until beginning to soften. Stir in the <a class=\"glossary-link\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bbcgoodfood.com\/glossary\/garlic\">garlic<\/a> and <a class=\"glossary-link\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bbcgoodfood.com\/glossary\/mushroom\">mushrooms<\/a> and cook for a further 10 mins.<\/li>\n<li class=\"separator separator-solid-grayoffwhite\">Stir in the red pepper and grated <a class=\"glossary-link\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bbcgoodfood.com\/glossary\/carrot\">carrot<\/a> and cook for about 3 mins then add the <a class=\"glossary-link\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bbcgoodfood.com\/glossary\/oregano\">oregano<\/a> and <a class=\"glossary-link\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bbcgoodfood.com\/glossary\/paprika\">paprika<\/a> and cook for just a minute.<\/li>\n<li class=\"separator separator-solid-grayoffwhite\">Add the red <a class=\"glossary-link\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bbcgoodfood.com\/glossary\/lentils\">lentils<\/a> and <a class=\"glossary-link\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bbcgoodfood.com\/glossary\/tomato\">tomato<\/a> puree and cook for about 1 min, then add the vegetable stock and simmer over a very gentle heat until all the liquid has been absorbed and the mixture is fairly dry. Set aside to cool.<\/li>\n<li class=\"separator separator-solid-grayoffwhite\">Finally, stir in the breadcrumbs, nuts, <a class=\"glossary-link\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bbcgoodfood.com\/glossary\/egg\">eggs<\/a>, cheese and <a class=\"glossary-link\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bbcgoodfood.com\/glossary\/parsley\">parsley<\/a> and a pinch of salt and some ground black pepper. Stir to mix well then spoon the mixture into the prepared tin and press down the surface . Cover with foil and bake for 20 mins, then remove the foil and bake for a further 10\u201315 mins until firm when pressed gently.<\/li>\n<li class=\"separator separator-solid-grayoffwhite\">Meanwhile, to make the sauce, heat the oil very gently then add the garlic slices and <a class=\"glossary-link\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bbcgoodfood.com\/glossary\/rosemary\">rosemary<\/a> sprig and heat without colouring. Pour in the passata and add a pinch of salt and some ground black pepper. Simmer gently for just 15 mins.<\/li>\n<li class=\"separator separator-solid-grayoffwhite last\">Allow the loaf to cool in the tin for about 10 mins then turn out onto a serving board or plate.
