talk about listening \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0I zone out for a bit<\/p>\n

***<\/p>\n

walking meditation:<\/p>\n

you are moving slowly too<\/p>\n

little ladybird<\/p>\n

***<\/p>\n

morning silence \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0the brewing coffee gurgles<\/p>\n

***<\/p>\n

early drizzle<\/p>\n

creating a round stain<\/p>\n

in this concrete pantheon<\/p>\n

***<\/p>\n

August afternoon<\/p>\n

a sunburst spotlights<\/p>\n

the weeping willow<\/p>\n

***<\/p>\n

disturbed picture frame:<\/p>\n

the window & horse-chestnut<\/p>\n

nodding yes, yes, yes<\/p>\n

last morning \u00a0\u00a0more \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0distance \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0between \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0sitters<\/p>\n

White Heat<\/strong><\/p>\n

(for Lama Tsering)<\/em><\/p>\n

Just like the moon which shines upon us all,<\/p>\n

enlightened beings\u2019 blessings are on tap;<\/p>\n

says our dear teacher who has us in thrall<\/p>\n

this week in Braga, resting hands on lap.<\/p>\n

In forty-two degrees we soon will melt<\/p>\n

into our mats and cushions, from the heat;<\/p>\n

though we imagine that we\u2019re not in hell<\/p>\n

but in the realm with Amitaba\u2019s seat.<\/p>\n

White Tara deity we will invoke<\/p>\n

as long as many mantras are said;<\/p>\n

Chenrezig figure\u2019s also white light soaked<\/p>\n

compassion dominating both their heads.<\/p>\n

With wisdom and a twinkle in his eye<\/p>\n

our Rinpoche instructs us how to die.<\/p>\n

She is a winner of the Listowel Writers\u2019 Week poetry competition for a single poem, and conducts haiku workshops with adults and children.<\/p>\n

A lecturer in Media Studies, she lives in Dublin<\/p>\n
