Old sadhu of Kathmandu
\nWhere few stop to know him
\nMan of wisdom there amongst
\nHis braided locks that melted into
\nNever ending worn out beard.<\/p>\n
Old sadhu follows in footsteps
\nOf those who dwelt before him
\nTo continue where no disciples tread
\nOr anyone to point toward
\nHis outward simplistic raggedness.<\/p>\n
Old sadhu seated beneath
\nA stupa of two thousand whitewashed years
\nWith eyes of a Buddha guarded by elephants
\nAstride steps of feet and sweat
\nAnd prayer wheels turning in the sun.<\/p>\n
Old sadhu always there
\nHis hair bleached in wisdom
\nWith wrinkled skin and coiling legs
\nUpon a blackened fraying mat
\nAmongst dusty passers by in chatter.<\/p>\n
