A Summary
by Maggy Jones
The fourth Noble Truth is the Truth of the path. In the context of Mahayana this is the path of the Six Paramitas, the path of the Bodhisattvas.
The first is Generosity. The main purpose of a Bodhisattva is to help other beings – to free all beings from suffering, not just yourself.
Generosity has two parts – to train oneself to be generous, secondly think hard on how to help other beings, by feeling ok about sharing what you have no matter how much or how little you have, whether it is a cup of curry or your life. Sharing will also bring you satisfaction.
