First, we recognise the suffering in our world that affects us all. But in this realisation lies the key to liberation. The second truth shows us the causes of suffering, such as desire and ignorance. By recognising these causes we can begin to overcome them. The third truth teaches us that it is possible to overcome suffering and achieve lasting happiness. Finally, the fourth truth shows us the path to salvation by following the Eightfold Path, which begins with right understanding and ends with right mindfulness.<\/p>\n<p>On this path we discover not only happiness in the moment, but also the Buddha nature that lies dormant within each of us, waiting to be awakened.
