A talk on how to have a peaceful, joyful mind no matter what is happening. This teaching was given at Westchester Buddhist Center in Irvington, Westchester, NY.
If we can relax our mind in its natural state in any situation, we will find the peace and joy within. Usually we have too many expectations. We have a strong habitual tendency to react in a way that brings disturbance in our mind. In this talk Rinpoche is giving the guidance as how to learn to relax in the natural state. That is very simple, but not so easy for us to understand. It is something we need to learn by doing again and again.
Questions and anwers, and jokes, from around 01:05:00 onwards. Questions discussed are:
– How do you develop the effortlessness so that you won’t worry?
– How do you motivate yourself to act if you always have a low expectation?
– How to figure out whether I can change the situation or not, especially when others are involved?
– How to remember the practice when you are already disturbed?
