Rinpoche explains the fundamental significance of Refuge to Buddha, Dharma and Sangha in Buddhism. The Buddha taught not one method, but many methods, and there are different ways of taking Refuge, especially between Mahayana and Vajrayana.
In the end Rinpoche thanks the Glasgow Sangha for raising a lot of money for his monastery in Tibet, Rigul, and he describes the situation there, with the monks who returned from the prisons and began rebuilding, now there is the need for a Shedra.
