Rinpoche gave these teachings, titled as “How to combine the understanding of emptiness with the practice of compassion”, in Grabnik, Poland.
A very brief summary
Part 1
Introduction to the essence of dharma practice: identifying and transforming the causes of our suffering. The causes of suffering are klesha, afflictive emotions, and karma, the habitual tendencies. The opposite of all kleshas is compassion and wisdom. When we develop our compassion and wisdom to the utmost level we become enlightened.
Q&A.
Part 2
Understanding of emptiness nature of reality through our own investigation.
We can get an intellectual understanding of this, but actual experience on emotional level is not easy. We need to meditate and slowly become familiar with this reality. We need both of the two truths, and the practice of compassion and wisdom together, otherwise we fall into one of the extremes. Wisdom and compassion are like the two wings of a bird. Without both two wings we cannot become enlightened.
Q&A with a Polish joke and an inspiring description of the process of investigation and meditation.
Part 3
It is extremely important to not get the wrong view that because everything is emptiness, it does not matter what I do. So, we need to practice the 2 truths or the wisdom and compassion together. This part is about how to actually do that.
Two versions of the audio: English only (1-3) and with Polish translation (4-6).
