We ask that all Rinpoche’s teachings are video recorded and shared with the Ringu Tulku Archive by the hosting organisation.
This can be done either by using a video camera/phone or by hosting the event online (Zoom etc) and recording it. Your online event can either be private for your group or open to the public. See more info on live events below.
Audio files should be saved as .mp3‘s, video files as .mp4 and images as .jpg. Any text files should be in the .pdf format.
Ideally we would like to receive video files both in their original high quality format saved as MP4 files and then an additional lower quality mp4 file (that is trimmed to the exact start and finish of a teaching minus the prayers) that we can use directly on the website. The video size we currently use in our video player is up to 1080p. But we prefer to receive any video file in any format rather than none at all. So don’t let that be an obstacle to sharing you video files with us.
Please make sure that your audio or video files cover one teaching session each (as opposed to many bits of recordings). A teaching session is usually around one and a half to two hours. For example, a weekend teaching may include four or six sessions.
Please make sure to name your files using our ‘date-teaching name-location‘ naming convention. For example: ‘2009-03-16-Specific Maras Outer and inner-Bremen-Germany.mp3‘
If you have more than one file, please prefix each file name with a number (e.g. 01, 02, 03 etc.) so that they display in the correct order. For example ‘01-2009-03-16-Specific Maras Outer and inner-Bremen-Germany.mp3‘.
The simplest way to record an online teaching is to invite one of the Archive technical team to attend your event (giving them permission to record or making them a co-host) so that they can make a recording and add it to the archive on your behalf. Then you don’t have to record or upload the large video file. To arrange that, please contact teachings@bodhicharya.org
If you need technical help from our Archive Zoom Team to host an online zoom event, or would like us to host the event for you, please contact webcasts@bodhicharya.org.
Please also kindly add this link for offerings to Rinpoche to the promotional materials for your online event:https://bodhicharya.org/teachings/offerings
