Beyond us and you

Buddha’s idea of spiritual community

The Sangha, the spiritual community, is a centerpiece of the Buddhist path. Along with the Buddha as the teacher and the Dharma as the path, the Sangha is the third object of our refuge. It is something we can turn to when we are in need and something that always accompanies us.

Why is the Sangha relevant to us from today’s perspective?

Nowadays, we as humanity are less and less of one mind when it comes to political ideas or shaping our daily lives. We often isolate ourselves from each other and just stay in our bubble. Or we confront each other with our ideas of reality, but in such a rigorous way that a real dialogue no longer takes place. Here we may sometimes long for a connection with others beyond such categories, a connection at the level of the heart.

In this talk, Ringu Tulku Rinpoche will teach about the role of the Sangha, and what meaning it can have for our spiritual path and our daily lives in these times. In this way, we will understand the Sangha as a community that transcends opinions and ideas, and that can always inspire us anew to put the Buddhist teachings into practice.
