The Four Ordinary Foundations – Online Teaching

Friday-Saturday, June 27-28, 2025

Online course (in English)

The Four Ordinary Foundations are four thoughts that turn the mind towards practicing dharma, and therefore known also as the Four Thoughts that Turn the Mind.

These four meditations are the basis to all the traditions taught by the Buddha, that lead us to attain their goals: the Theravada vehicle, that aims to attain liberation; the Mahayana vehicle and the Vajrayana vehicle, that aim to attain Buddhahood for the benefit of all sentient beings.

The Four Ordinary Foundations are:

  • Precious human rebirth
  • Impermanence and Death
  • Karma
  • The faults of cyclic existence (samsara)

If we delve into these topics and internalize them, we will be able to understand our own situation, to embark on the path of developing wisdom and compassion and to persevere in it.

By these meditations a wisdom that wishes to take refuge from the samsaric process will be developed in us, and this wisdom will also help us developing great compassion to others.

Dharma Friends Israel are delighted to host this online 2 days teaching with the wonderful teacher Ringu Tulku Rinpoche. The course is open to all; beginners and advanced students.
