Wednesday 19th June – Tuesday 25th June
This retreat is open to all, new and long-term students, interested in spending some time in this beautiful natural setting, receiving teaching on Buddhism and meditation.
Holy Isle is situated off the Scottish coast, a little north of Glasgow. The journey itself is scenic, and smooth once you know where you’re going: Arriving at Ardrossen Harbour, by direct train from Glasgow or by car, you board the passenger ferry across to the Isle of Arran. A bus links from this ferry to a small boat, which takes you across the bay to Holy Isle itself. Timetables for these connections are given on the Holy Isle website, as well as connections from Glasgow airport. The accommodation is modern and comfortable and the food is wonderful – vegetarian (often including vegan choices), with much of the food grown organically on the island.
Arrival is on Wednesday 19th June. The retreat starts with an early evening meal and welcome afterwards. The week will offer sessions of teaching on the Buddhist path; interspersed with meditation, other practice, time for exploring the island and meeting up with old and new friends. The retreat will end around lunchtime on Tuesday 25th June.
