BA1_31-36 The Greatness of Those Who Have Bodhichitta

Here Ringu Tulku Rinpoche explains the greatness of the bodhisattvas who have generated the bodhichitta in themselves and who are always trying to help others to have lasting peace and happiness. A contact with such a person is always beneficial to the beings.

BA1_27-28 Proving the Benefits of Active Bodhichitta

BA1_20 Proving the Benefits by Scripture

Ringu Tulku Rinpoche explains in this video (BA14/BA1_20) the 20th stanza of the first chapter of the Bodhicharyavatara. This stanza refers to another text – the sutra requested by Subahu – where the Buddha taught the 4 limitless aspects of bodhichitta. Those aspects are the reason why the merit of generating active bodhichitta in one’s mind is also limitless.

BA1_15-16 Classification of Bodhichitta

In this teaching (BA10/BA1_11-12), the next two of the five examples demonstrating the general benefits of generating bodhichitta are explained by Rinpoche. These two examples–a precious jewel and a fruit-bearing, wish-fulfilling tree–are given in stanzas 11 and 12 of the first chapter. The first example, alchemy, was explained in the previous teaching.
