    Dear Rinpoche,

I appreciate the “byte-sized” teachings–the better to digest them. =)

    thank you

thank you Rinpoche for this very interesting teaching. Could you kindly explain when and how the concept of a Bodhisattva first arose in the history of Buddhism? Was it in India, after the lifetime of Buddha Sakyamuni so it was a development within Buddhism? Or maybe not?

Thank you Rinpoche. The Nalanda monks treatment of Shantideva reminds me to trust everyone has buddha nature, and have humility in their presence. There is a sutra, lti 27 (I don’t know what that means) where the Buddha spoke of lovingkindness being supreme over every other kind of practice and accomplishment. For me, a very touching and inspiring sutra, confirming all we are being taught with the lineage of wisdom of Rinpoche, Patrul Rinpoche, Shantideva, Avalokitesvara, and Sakyamuni Buddha.

Thank you, Rinpoche. What a lovely story. It is a gentle reminder that my habitual tendency to judge people, always short changes both myself and them. It was also wonderful to see your face and hear your voice. It has been a long time since we have enjoyed your presence in Tulsa. I hope you are happy and well.

Thankyou Rinpoche for the teachings, I mostly have to study things in my own time as my responsibilities make it hard for me to physically meet with my teachers. The Shedra is a wonderful idea, and even if travelling around the world it means that it is still possible to keep to a study programme not designed by my own ego. Looking forward to the whole programme.

I agree with karmapagden, this is a wonderful opportunity to study with you Rinpoche when we cannot travel to do so.
I am also enjoying seeing your smiling face again, I remember it well from when I have had teachings from you at Samye Ling.
